6 Do’s and Don’ts For Healthy Living

With the fast growing of technology today, people are paying more attention on their health. Google for “Healthy Life” and you’re getting tons of information showing you how to live a healthier life. Here’s some simple ways that you could work them out daily to maintain your body health.

1.       Do: Quality sleep à Don’t: Stay up “Just for one more show”
“Just one more show and I will sleep”. Isn’t it familiar to you? Especially during weekends, we stay up just because it is a long-awaited and precious weekend after a week of hard work yet we do not have to wake up early the next day. However, a well-rested body leads to clearer mind and it’s the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. A fully-rejuvenated body helps to improve our memory, creativity and prolong our lifespan base on the results of the Alameda County Study in California back in 1960s. So, keep whatever things that you “eager” to do it on Saturday night, leave it for the next day as you’re going to have a lot more energy to deal with anything after getting a 6-8 hours of good sleep.

2.       Do: Have breakfast à Don’t: Skip breakfast
There’re a lot reasons people tend to give themselves for skipping breakfast. The most-heard reason is being “too busy”. Researcher from the Harvard School of Public Health said that skipping breakfast could lead to adverse metabolic effects and high blood pressure which are the fundamental to heart disease. Breakfast is the first meal of the day and it helps to jump-start our day. A piece of toast or a bowl of cereal meal would be enough to fuel up our day. Breakfast, in fact, helps to aid our weigh loss. So, skipping breakfast is no longer helpful to your slimming plan, the truth is, you’re going to gain unexpected weight instead.

3.       Do: Stay hydrated àDon’t: Stay hydrated with carbonated drink
Human body is comprised of 60 percent water. Women need to consume more water to keep their skin moisture. At least 6-8 glasses of water are needed for our normal body functions throughout the day. Water plays the very important roles in our body as it helps the detoxification of kidneys and liver, dissolves minerals and other nutrition for better body absorption, regulates body temperatures, and etc.  Don’t try to replace it with carbonated drinks as it may leads to calcium loss from our body.

4.       Do: Move your body à Don’t: “I will start exercise tomorrow”
“I am just too tired today and I will start my exercise tomorrow”. This is the most common excuse given by those working adults. Thanks to the advance technology we have today that brought us a lot more conveniences, people tend to have less movement as we could almost get everything  with one click. Don’t make your exercise just sitting at the desk all day or laying on the couch all evening. Get on a regular schedule and be more active. It could be jogging, swimming or dancing! Start small and make your way up to longer and intense workout.

5.       Do: Snack à Don’t: Overeat
Snack is no longer just for kid, adults need it too. Light snack between meals help to revitalize our body and mind. Fat-free-sugar-free snacks will be the best choice. A small and frequent meal is better than having heavy meals 3 times a day. Your digestive system will say thank you if it is able to do so.

6.       Do: Unplug à Don’t: Interact through computer

We are living in the world of radioactive. Smartphones, laptops and TVs release radioactive while they are working. We are just too easy to get stuck in front of screens for hours before we can pull our attention off from them. It’s time to unplug yourself from the screen after you have finished reading the articles and have some times with the nature. It will help your posture, eyesight and clear your mind.
